What's the reason for the Teflon Products and PVDF Price Increases.

Within the last year, the market has experienced more shortages than I have seen during my over 25 years of experience. In the past I have seen sharp price increases, and I have experienced several shortages, and delivery problems caused by resin allocations from plastic resin manufacturers. This is the first instance I have seen all these issues at the same time.

PTFE (TFE) and Kynar both are on allocation.

This pair of resins are in short supply. The  PTFE Sheet product PTFE (TFE) and also PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that's mined in Mongolia and China. The world need for this mineral has increased significantly, along with the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is used within a good deal of purposes from non-stick fry cookware to ptfe tape for use at home. This mineral is the essential raw materials within the production of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and lots of refrigerants. This increasing amount of demand joined together with general shortage of raw materials has caused a dramatic price increase (almost double during the last year), shortages, and we expect these two factors to continue in the near future.
